Rotten Tomatoes is usually my goto for ing rentals before hand, both for the critic and audience . My tastes are usually aligned without too much variance, but this movie is an exception. I have seen it twice, and loved it even more with each viewing, which is a quality of movie that is well crafted with a lot of attention to detail. Surreal visuals, razor sharp action, western grit, charming characters and dialogue, and a pleasantly spun tale that doesn't take itself too seriously, but is punctuated with dramatic moments, too. I loved it. 5 stars. And I don't give them out easily.

I have mixed feelings about this film. For the most part it is original, kind of a cowboys and ninja clash, but the story itself is not that good. You already know what happens before it starts and that makes it sorta hard to watch. Granted,most of the fight scenes are pretty good but they do over do it quite a bit. Jang is the only person to keep this movie afloat. His performance, being his first hollywood film, is spot on. He plays the character better than anyone else could. Its just sad to see who he had to work with. I think with some tweaking and better ing actors this movie could have been extremely good.
